Ten minutes. That is how long the Sex Pistols' very first live show lasted when it took place in 1975. The performance marked the official launch of the band, which would go on to define the punk rock era in the years that followed.

The date, November 6, has hosted a variety of musical milestones. In 1970, Aerosmith made their own live debut at Nipmuc Regional High School in Mendon, Massachusetts. This early performance for the American rock band occurred five years before the Sex Pistols hit the stage in London.

The day also commemorates several album releases across different decades. The Cars issued Shake It Up in 1981, while Eric Clapton released Journeyman in 1989. Queen fans mark the 1995 release of Made in Heaven on this date. More recently, System Of A Down dropped Protect the Land and Genocidal Humanoidz in 2020. The band released that material to support Armenia during a regional conflict.

Birthdays for three prominent musicians fall on November 6. Corey Glover of Living Colour, Greg Graffin of Bad Religion, and Glenn Frey of the Eagles were all born on this day. The date also serves as a reminder of Hugh McDowell, the drummer for Electric Light Orchestra, who passed away in 2018.

Ozzy Osbourne returned to the Alamo in 2015 to film a road trip show with his son, Jack. He revisited the location where he famously urinated on a statue in 1982. In 2014, AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd faced charges in a New Zealand court. He was accused of attempting to procure murder following comments made at an album release party, though the charges were dropped the following day.
