400. That is the number of acting credits accumulated by voice actor Eric Bauza before his death at age 46.

Bauza’s family announced his passing on Sunday, Oct. 25, in a statement posted to his Instagram account. They described the death as sudden. According to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Bauza died at his home from hypertensive cardiovascular disease. The family said more details would be released in the coming days.

Bauza was born on Dec. 7, 1979, in Scarborough, Toronto. His parents were Filipino immigrants. He developed an early interest in animation by watching classic cartoons. Those early views of the original Looney Tunes performances shaped his career ambitions. He graduated from Centennial College in 2000 before moving to Hollywood.

He did not start his career in front of a microphone. Bauza worked as a character designer and layout artist. He helped translate storyboards into poses for animators. His first acting role came in 2001 with The Ripping Friends. From there, he built a diverse portfolio that included roles in animated series, films, and major franchises.

His most recognized work involved reviving the voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Marvin the Martian, and Porky Pig. He performed these characters on Looney Tunes Cartoons and Bugs Bunny Builders. In doing so, he carried forward the legacy of Mel Blanc for a younger audience. He also voiced the title character in The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Baby Fozzie in Muppet Babies, and Woody Woodpecker in a Universal feature film.

Bauza’s television credits extended to The Fairly OddParents, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bob’s Burgers, and Rick and Morty. He lent his voice to films including The Super Mario Bros. Movie, The Book of Life, and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. In Space Jam: A New Legacy, he provided multiple voices. He portrayed both Daffy and Porky in The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie. Most recently, he voiced numerous characters in Coyote vs. Acme.

Bauza won three Children’s & Family Emmy Awards for Outstanding Voice Performance in an Animated Program. He received the award for Looney Tunes Cartoons in 2022, Bugs Bunny Builders in 2023, and his work on Teen Titans Go! in 2025. In a 2023 interview with the Toronto Guardian, he explained the mindset required for the role. “It’s not just about funny voices. You have to really care about the characters. You have to believe in Bugs Bunny,” he said.

Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and U.S. Networks, issued a statement remembering Bauza. She called him an artist who “brought joy and laughter to millions around the world.” The statement also noted his 15 years with Warner Bros. Animation and his dedication to the Looney Tunes franchise. As of Monday, Oct. 26, no funeral or memorial service had been scheduled. The family indicated they would share further information when available.
