Tami Bailey, the manager of the Christmas Gift and Hobby Show, announced that the 77th annual event will partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Indianapolis. The collaboration centers on a dedicated charity day scheduled for Thursday, November 12.
During that single day, $3 from every box office ticket sold will go directly to the youth organization. The funds will support local children's programs run by the club.
Bailey described the partnership as a natural fit for the holiday season. "We like to partner with community services, and I think that Christmas is a great time of year, and they do so much for children in the Indianapolis area, so it was a great partnership," Bailey said.
The show has a long history in Indianapolis, with attendees often bringing multiple generations. Bailey noted that grandparents, parents, and children have all participated in the event over the years.
The event features 300 exhibitors and several special programming days. Veterans Day on November 11 will be designated as Hero Day. The schedule also includes Teacher Day and Girls' Night Out on Friday.
Actors and celebrities will also appear at the venue. Hallmark Channel star Robert Buckley, known for The Christmas House and One Tree Hill, will visit on Friday. Santa Claus will also be available for photographs.
Pam Lozano, director of resource development for the Boys & Girls Club of Indianapolis, said the partnership helps remove financial barriers for families. "It's going to continue to open the door and make sure there are no financial barriers for any of the families we serve," Lozano said. She added that the support helps children feel seen and safe. "The biggest thing we like to convey to our kids is that they are seen. They come and they are in a safe place, and they get to just be a kid," Lozano said.
