The Indianapolis Colts are trading All-Pro offensive lineman Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, ESPN reported Tuesday. Seattle sends Indianapolis a third-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft and a fifth-round pick in 2028, according to the network.

Nelson, 30, has spent his entire nine-year career with the Colts. Indianapolis selected him sixth overall out of Notre Dame in the 2018 draft. He has appeared in the Pro Bowl every season since his rookie year and earned first-team All-Pro honors from 2018 through 2020.

His contract expires at the end of this season, and Indianapolis was unlikely to re-sign him. Had he left in free agency, the compensatory pick the Colts would have received lands in the 2028 draft. The trade delivers a selection this year and another the following year.

The deal comes ahead of the league's Nov. 10 trade deadline and suggests the Colts are willing to move established players. Defensive linemen DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart are also in contract years. Reports say the Minnesota Vikings and other teams have asked about running back Jonathan Taylor.

The Colts visit the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at 1 p.m. Indianapolis has not won in Jacksonville in 11 years.
