American, Ukrainian, and Russian delegations will convene in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11 to negotiate a ceasefire and post-war security framework. US envoy Steve Witkoff announced the dates on Monday, marking the first trilateral meeting since February.
The talks will address de-escalation, humanitarian measures, and the terms for ending the conflict. Witkoff stated in a social media post that the agenda includes specific agreements on security and reconstruction. Senior US officials expect Witkoff and Jared Kushner to lead the American team during the two-day session.
Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to participate after a meeting with Witkoff in St. Petersburg two weeks ago. This engagement signals Moscow's willingness to resume direct dialogue with Washington and Kyiv. The timing aims to secure progress before winter weather complicates military operations on the ground.
Before the Abu Dhabi summit, US negotiators will hold working-level meetings in Brussels this week. Representatives from France, Germany, Britain, the European Union, and NATO will join to discuss Ukraine's security guarantees. The focus will be on Europe's future security architecture and financial support for Ukraine's reconstruction.
These bilateral and multilateral efforts reflect President Trump's push for a lasting peace agreement. While leaders express optimism, Ukraine and Russia remain divided on the core terms of a settlement. Trump has recently increased pressure on Kyiv to accept a deal, narrowing the window for compromise.
The upcoming meetings build on recent diplomatic exchanges among the parties. The goal is to align European and American positions before the trilateral summit. Officials describe the schedule as a coordinated effort to finalize a framework for ending Europe's bloodiest conflict since World War Two.
