Tucker Carlson posted on X on Sunday that the White House may be days away from authorizing a nuclear attack on Iran. He stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressing President Donald Trump for this specific action. The potential target is Pickaxe Mountain, a fortified site located near the Natanz uranium enrichment facility.

Carlson focused on the physical challenges of attacking the mountain. He noted that the site features two deeply buried tunnel complexes. He argued that American conventional weapons, including 13,000 kilogram bunker-buster bombs, cannot penetrate the 300 feet of granite covering the tunnels. Based on this assessment, he presented a nuclear strike as the only viable military option to destroy the facilities.

The commentator cited an unnamed observer who said Netanyahu contacts Trump daily regarding the strike. Carlson linked this pressure to Netanyahu’s political standing in Israel. He claimed the Israeli leader cannot form a government without direct involvement from Trump. Carlson also alleged that Netanyahu is influencing senior US officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and CIA director John Ratcliffe. He specifically stated that Rubio and Ratcliffe are following the Israeli prime minister’s lead.

Trump has previously discussed Pickaxe Mountain as a potential target. In an interview with Newsmax, he described the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb as a non-nuclear weapon. He compared its destructive power to a small nuclear bomb but emphasized that it does not use a nuclear warhead. Trump also mentioned a conversation with Netanyahu, which he described as very good, where the Israeli leader urged a restart of strikes immediately after the US midterm elections.

Carlson warned that a nuclear attack would intensify an approaching global depression. He urged readers to speak out, citing the prospect of mass deaths, including children. His post came while US forces conducted strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island. A US official said on Monday that these attacks were limited and defensive. They did not mark a return to major combat operations.

Earlier on Monday, Trump answered no when asked if he was considering renewed strikes after Tuesday’s election. This response leaves questions about Washington’s strategy in the eight-month war. The administration has not confirmed the specific claims regarding daily calls or the necessity of a nuclear weapon.
