The Historic Courthouse and Bridge of Flowers in downtown Noblesville will be lit in green starting Nov. 4. The illumination continues through Nov. 11, coinciding with Veterans Day. This action is part of Operation Green Light, a national campaign to recognize veteran service.
Christine Altman, president of the Hamilton County Commissioners, stated that the county wants veterans to know their sacrifices have not been forgotten. She described the lighting as a simple gesture that carries an important message of appreciation and support.
The initiative began as a nationwide effort to provide a visible reminder that communities value their veterans. Hamilton County joined this group of localities participating in the display during the first week of November.
The Hamilton County Parks & Recreation Department will extend the display beyond the downtown landmarks. Signs and other features throughout county parks will also be lit in green. This expansion keeps the visual tribute visible for the entire month of November.
County leaders are asking residents, businesses, and community organizations to join the effort. Participants are encouraged to replace one exterior light bulb with a green one or display a green light in a window. The county asks participants to share photos of their displays on social media using the hashtag #OperationGreenLight.
The green lighting serves as a public acknowledgment of the service provided by veterans in the region. The display covers major public infrastructure in Noblesville and various park locations across Hamilton County.
