Nia Long is back in a weekly celebrity photo roundup after posting a video online this week. The 55-year-old actress appeared at the 6th Annual Academy Museum Gala during the same stretch of days that also carried news of Ashanti discussing Nelly changing their son's first diaper and Yandy Smith explaining why she and Mendeecees have not legally married.

Long announced an upcoming memoir titled The Sound of Purpose in an Instagram post. The book's synopsis says she will write about growing up in Brooklyn, her family's move to Iowa, and being one of only four Black students at her school. The synopsis also covers the racism and colorism she encountered while building her career, along with family dynamics from her early years.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Long described the book: "The Sound of Purpose is an intimate unpacking of my life, a healing journey inward, comforted by the signs and sounds that led me to self-love and safety." Long recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The weekly roundup also includes Monaleo, Chlöe Bailey, and Latto. Other names listed are Jayda Cheaves, Taina Williams, Ari Fletcher, Angela Simmons, and Kelly Rowland.

The series previously covered other figures during the same week of posts. Kristy Sarah responded to criticism about rumors involving Bryson Tiller.

The original version of this roundup appeared on bossip.com on October 29, 2026.
