At least four Palestinians, including a child, were killed in Israeli military strikes across central and southern Gaza on Thursday. Medical officials confirmed the deaths as forces continued near-daily attacks on the enclave.
Abdul Rahim Walid Matar, 27, died at dawn after an Israeli drone fired two missiles at a tent sheltering displaced people west of az-Zawayda. Staff at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah reported his death. A separate drone strike in the same area killed a fourth person, according to medical sources.
In Khan Younis, Nasser Medical Complex stated that a woman was killed and two others wounded by Israeli fire outside zones under military control. A source at al-Awda Hospital reported that Israeli forces shot and killed a child in the Bureij refugee camp. Ashraf Amra, reporting from Deir el-Balah, said troops fired directly at homes and tents in eastern Bureij. "Israeli forces on the edges of the area that directly overlooks al-Mawasi are firing heavily towards the tents of displaced people," Amra said. He added that a man struck inside his tent was rushed to surgery at Nasser Hospital.
Drone attacks continued in Deir el-Balah, where a strike on a gathering in the al-Baraka area wounded several residents, one critically. In northern Gaza, a drone hit an apartment in al-Karama, northwest of Gaza City, injuring one person. Artillery pounded eastern Gaza City while naval vessels fired toward the coastline. No casualties were reported after a drone dropped a bomb near the Hosni al-Musaddar Mosque east of Maghazi camp. Residents east of Khan Younis described two powerful explosions as the army demolished homes and civilian facilities within controlled territory.
Gaza's Health Ministry reported that three Palestinians were killed and 21 wounded in the 24 hours prior to Thursday. One of the dead had succumbed to earlier injuries. Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, the ministry says 1,602 Palestinians have been killed and 5,794 wounded. The total toll since October 2023 stands at 74,618 killed and 175,920 wounded.
The Government Media Office of Gaza announced on Monday that Israel committed 5,989 ceasefire violations since the truce began. That count includes 753 incidents in October. Those October violations comprised 346 shootings, 310 bombardments, and 64 home demolitions.
Israeli forces advanced on the eastern edges of al-Musaddar and Deir el-Balah on Thursday. Amra said troops bulldozed homes and farmland while taking more land behind the so-called Yellow Line.
