Residents of Central Indiana can purchase Shake-Up Delta-9 hemp beverages at a reduced price during a one-time event scheduled for Saturday, November 7. The ready-to-drink cocktail brand operates out of a distillery located at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. This gathering serves as the final public sale for the product line before federal regulations take effect.

The brand will host the prohibition-themed event from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds distillery. Admission is free for guests aged 21 and older, and parking will be provided at no cost. A DJ will play music during the event, and food options will include burritos from Cali Boys. Artisan vendors will also occupy a marketplace area.

Shake-Up will offer its Delta-9 beverages at a 40 percent discount. The brand will continue to sell its standard non-hemp cocktails alongside the discounted hemp items. Dan Fahrner, co-owner of Shake-Up, stated that the company distributes these products nationally.

A federal ban on Delta-9 THC beverages, gummies, and CBD products takes effect in December. The prohibition targets all hemp-related items and is expected to impact an industry valued at $30 billion across the United States. Congress included this ban in a government spending bill passed in November 2025. Fahrner noted that many consumers and businesses were unaware of the clause until after the legislative process concluded.

The Delta-9 line expanded following the pandemic as consumers reduced their alcohol consumption. Fahrner said some customers report that the beverages help with anxiety and sleep. The brand uses ingredients such as cranberry ginger and lemon in its flavors. Fahrner emphasized that the hemp beverages do not taste like hemp, comparing the cranberry ginger option to a traditional cocktail.

Shake-Up has maintained operations at the fairgrounds despite recent challenges. The brand experienced several rain-outs during a season of flooding, though record attendance during one week brought total numbers to an average level. The company recently introduced a pickle lemonade shake-up, which has received strong sales and remains in inventory.
