The Indianapolis Colts are considering moving running back Jonathan Taylor.
ESPN and the NFL Network report that the front office is actively fielding calls from other franchises. Schefter identified the Broncos, Seahawks, Packers, Giants, and Vikings as teams currently involved in discussions. This move follows a recent roster overhaul that saw the team trade guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to San Francisco this week. Those transactions returned draft capital to Indianapolis, including a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick for Nelson, and a 2027 fourth-round pick for Buckner. The trades come two weeks after the firing of general manager Chris Ballard.
Taylor has stated he has not requested a trade and remains proud to wear the team's logo. However, he is the next cornerstone player the organization may look to move. The veteran has spent seven seasons in Indianapolis, accumulating 8,185 rushing yards and 84 total touchdowns across 91 games. His most recent campaign saw him lead the league with 18 rushing touchdowns.
The Colts must make a decision on Taylor by 4 p.m. on November 10. That is when the NFL trade deadline arrives.
