Boundless Recreation has begun building recreational vehicles in Bristol, with a goal of employing 115 workers by the end of 2028. Governor Mike Braun announced the milestone on Wednesday, noting that the company has already secured 45 positions. The new facility is located at 705 Maple Street in Bristol.

The company is investing $2 million to outfit its 104,000-square-foot building with advanced manufacturing equipment. Founded in 2025 by a group of experienced RV professionals, Boundless Recreation started its initial production run in October 2026. The firm plans to more than double its current workforce over the next two years.

Founder and president Nate Nickell explained that the business focuses on high-quality fifth wheels and, in the near future, travel trailers. Nickell stated that the company aims to create vehicles that are simpler to service and maintain, ensuring long-term reliability for owners. He said, “We founded Boundless Recreation because we believe the RV industry needs a different approach, one that puts quality components, thoughtful craftsmanship and accountability to the customer at the center of every decision.”

New roles at Boundless Recreation are projected to pay an average salary 125% higher than the mean wage in Elkhart County. This compensation package is part of the company's strategy to attract skilled manufacturing talent to the area.

The South Bend-Elkhart region currently produces roughly 80% to 88% of all recreational vehicles made in the United States and Canada. Indiana Secretary of Commerce Chuck Goodrich noted that the state's reputation for entrepreneurship is growing due to such local expansions. He said, “Indiana is advancing its reputation as a top global destination for entrepreneurship and innovation thanks to the commitment of companies like Boundless Recreation.”

Braun made the announcement while speaking at IBJ Media’s Innovate Indiana series event in northern Indiana. The event gathered local and regional leaders to discuss economic development in the South Bend-Elkhart area. Braun said, “Indiana is known as the RV Capital of the World, and we’re thrilled to welcome yet another company to the sector and to our statewide economy.”

Small businesses like Boundless Recreation make up 99.4% of all companies in Indiana and employ 1.2 million residents. The new Bristol facility adds to the existing network of manufacturers in one of the nation's most concentrated RV production hubs.
