Rapper Jay-Z will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show on February 14, 2026, according to an announcement from the National Football League.
The Super Bowl LXI is scheduled to take place near Los Angeles. Jay-Z’s production company, Roc Nation, has produced the halftime show for the NFL since 2019 and typically selects the lead performer.
This is the first time the hip-hop artist will perform at the NFL championship game. The league did not clarify whether he will appear solo or with guest musicians.
The NFL stated that anticipation for potential guest stars, including his wife Beyoncé, will now begin. The announcement followed two concerts Jay-Z performed last weekend at the Los Angeles stadium hosting the Super Bowl.
Those concerts were part of a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. Shawn Carter, known professionally as Jay-Z, described the move to the Super Bowl stage as the culmination of a three-decade career.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he was excited for fans to experience the performer’s artistry. Goodell noted that he had requested Jay-Z take the stage whenever the moment felt right to him.
