Tyler M. Freville, 28, of LaPorte, is held in Fulton County Jail after leading Indiana State Police on a high-speed pursuit that ended in a collision in Marshall County. Troopers arrested the man following a chase that crossed two counties and reached speeds near 130 mph. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Friday.

State Trooper Jarod Sheetz was patrolling U.S. 31 in Fulton County just after midnight when he observed a Tesla traveling north near Olson Road. Sheetz attempted to stop Freville for speeding and distracted driving. Freville drove away, initiating a pursuit that moved through Fulton and Marshall counties.

The chase continued north on U.S. 31 until it reached 17th Road in Marshall County. At that location, the Tesla struck another vehicle. Freville exited his car and attempted to flee on foot. A Fulton County sheriff’s K-9 unit apprehended him. The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Officers searched Freville’s vehicle and found suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a signal jammer. These items contributed to the preliminary charges filed against him. Freville had never held a driver’s license.

Freville faces multiple charges stemming from the incident. These include a Level 5 felony for resisting law enforcement with a vehicle causing injury. He also faces Level 6 felonies for possession of a signal jammer and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. Misdemeanor charges include resisting law enforcement, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, and reckless driving. Class B and Class C misdemeanors cover possession of marijuana, paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle without a license.

The Indiana State Police Peru District confirmed the details of the arrest and the charges. Freville remains in the custody of Fulton County authorities.
