Jacob Allen Morley has been on the run for more than seven days since escaping from a Tennessee prison. The 28-year-old man is currently the subject of an Indiana State Police advisory issued on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Morley was convicted in 2022 of murdering Cody Burchfield. Authorities believe he stole a 2008 Ford F-150 during his escape. That vehicle was located in Marion, Illinois, last Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

Sgt. Kevin Getz of the Indiana State Police stated that investigators are not certain Morley is in the state. However, Getz noted that the timeline of the escape places the suspect within the Midwest region, including Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.

Four days ago, police examined a bank robbery in Wisconsin to see if it was connected to Morley. They did not find a link, and the suspect has not been located since.

Getz described Morley as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, and 240 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous. Getz asked residents to continue their normal activities if they spot the man. He urged the public to avoid approaching him and to call 800-453-4756 with a description of the person or any vehicle involved.

The advisory aims to keep Central Indiana residents aware of the suspect's potential presence in the area. Getz emphasized that the goal is simply for people to be on the lookout for the man who remains at large.
