The Mega Millions jackpot reached an estimated $505 million for the Friday drawing, a sum that has accumulated after 28 consecutive misses. The current pot follows a $803 million winner on July 28, a ticket sold in Florida. Players can choose between the annuity or a cash option valued at $213.3 million.

PlayCasino.com analyzed 165 drawings conducted between April 8, 2025, and Nov. 3, 2026, to identify patterns in the game’s current format. White balls 40 and 49 led the frequency list, each appearing 19 times. Number 42 followed with 18 appearances, while 10, 17, 18, and 63 each came up 17 times.

Other white balls appeared far less often. Numbers 28 and 29 were drawn only six times in the review period, and 20, 23, and 67 appeared seven times each. Among the Mega Balls, number 18 had not been selected in 91 drawings and had not appeared at all in 2026.

White ball 69 holds the longest gap, missing 58 consecutive drawings since April 14. Despite these disparities, lottery experts caution that each drawing is an independent event. A number that has been absent for months carries the same probability of appearing as one drawn recently.

“The balls have no memory,” analysts at PlayCasino.com said. The game currently uses 70 white balls and 24 Mega Balls, placing the odds of winning the top prize at 1 in 290,472,336. The drawing is scheduled for 9 p.m. Friday.
