WISH-TV chief meteorologist Keith Gibson collected two Spectrum Awards from the Indiana Broadcasters Association on Tuesday night, taking Television Weathercaster of the Year and first place for Best TV Weather Coverage.

Gibson, who anchors the Storm Track 8 team's weather coverage at WISH-TV, said in a statement after the ceremony: "I am humbled to have received 2 Spectrum Awards tonight from the Indiana Broadcasters Association. One for best TV weather coverage and another for weathercaster of the year. I have to give kudos to the entire Storm Track 8 team and WISH-TV news crew as well. It's been a wild year. From a record number of tornadoes to historic flooding, and everything in between."

For the weathercaster category, meteorologists from across the market were asked to submit a composite of live work showing their ability to present weather and deliver a clear, concise report on air. The Best TV Weather Coverage category called for a locally originated, regularly scheduled weather broadcast, judged on clear presentation of facts, delivery and communication skills, and use of available technology to help audience understanding.

The awards were presented before a crowd of nearly 200 people. Indiana stations took home more than 50 Spectrum Awards across categories, including Station of the Year in both Radio and Television.
